Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about EU CAPTCHA – from pricing and integration to GDPR compliance and support.

  • Is there a free trial?

Yes, you can try Myra EU CAPTCHA for free for 3 months.

  • Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. Contact support to cancel. Access will remain active until the end of the current paid period.

  • Is EU CAPTCHA GDPR-compliant?

EU CAPTCHA is designed with privacy-first principles and operated on georedundant servers in Germany. No personal data is collected or required for verification.

  • How are assessments counted?

An assessment is counted when the captcha widget starts its background verification. We offer two modes that determine when exactly this happens:

In the default mode (“solved immediate”), the widget begins its verification as soon as the page loads. This provides the best user experience because the captcha is already completed by the time the user is ready to submit the form. However, it means that every page view with a form counts as an assessment, even if the user never submits.

In the alternative mode (“solved triggered”), the widget only starts its verification when the user interacts with the form — for example, by clicking into a field or hovering over the widget. This reduces the number of assessments on pages where many visitors see the form but few actually complete it. You can conveniently switch to this mode in your application settings.

In both modes, the background verification and the server-side check together count as a single assessment in your billing.

  • How long does the integration take?

Integration is typically completed in under 10 minutes. EU CAPTCHA offers ready-made plugins and SDKs for the most common platforms and frameworks – including WordPress, TYPO3, Shopify, WooCommerce, React, Angular, Vue.js, Next.js, as well as backend languages such as PHP, Python, Java, and Node.js.

You can find additional integrations on our Integrations page. Is an integration missing? We welcome your feedback.

  • How many websites can I protect with one account?

All plans – including the free Essential plan – include unlimited site keys. A site key is a unique ID for each website or app and allows for separate management of settings and statistics for each domain.

  • Do I need to make any changes to my cookie banner?

No. The EU CAPTCHA widget does not set cookies and does not permanently store data in the browser. You do not need to add it to your cookie consent banner.

  • How should I mention the use of Myra EU CAPTCHA in my privacy policy?

You can include the following section in your privacy policy:

    EU CAPTCHA

On our website, we use the EU CAPTCHA service provided by Myra Security GmbH, Landsberger Straße 187, 80687 Munich. EU CAPTCHA is used to protect our website from abusive automated access (e.g., by bots), spam, and attacks such as credential stuffing, and to ensure the security of our online services.

When you access certain areas of our website, particularly when submitting forms, the integration of the CAPTCHA service establishes a connection between your browser and the servers of Myra Security GmbH. In this context, technical information is processed that is necessary to distinguish automated requests from legitimate user requests.

In particular, log data and device data are processed.

This data is analyzed by Myra Security to perform a risk analysis and to detect and, if necessary, block automated access.

Myra Security GmbH does not store the end user's personal data. Data that could identify the end user is anonymized, for example, using one-way hashing.

Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in protecting our website and the underlying IT infrastructure from misuse, automated attacks, and spam.

In this context, Myra Security GmbH acts as a processor on our behalf in accordance with Article 28 of the GDPR. Data processing takes place in data centers within the European Union.

  • Do I need to sign a DPA to use EU CAPTCHA?

Yes. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is required whenever a service provider processes personal data on behalf of a customer. As EU CAPTCHA processes data as part of its service, signing a DPA is mandatory before use.

You can download our DPA template here: DPA Template – PDF

Please sign the document and return it to us at info@myrasecurity.com before getting started.

  • How does EU CAPTCHA stand out from other solutions?

EU CAPTCHA stands out in three key areas:

Data sovereignty: All data is processed exclusively on georedundant servers in Germany – without data transfer to third countries and without dependence on U.S. laws such as the CLOUD Act.

Privacy by Design: No cookies, no tracking, no personal data – verification is purely behavior-based and completely invisible to the user.

Integration into a sovereign security ecosystem: Unlike standalone CAPTCHA services, EU CAPTCHA offers the option to integrate additional security products as part of the Myra platform, which also includes a Web Application Firewall (WAF), Bot Management, DDoS protection, and a secure CDN. In addition, it offers a high level of compliance with ISO 27001 (BSI IT-Grundschutz), PCI DSS, BSI C5 Type 2, and critical infrastructure certification.
